Last Thursday, L’asso Internationale organized a party for French students to get to know foreign ones. Thanks to a mentoring program, people have been able to meet and exchange, drinking a beer.
In the packed square, you could hear a lot of different languages spoken by the students. Discussions were sometimes unclear but everyone was eager to learn about others. The cultural differences were erased for once and drinks brought people together.
French students were actively looking for their foreign peers. They had chosen students coming from a country they wanted to learn more about. Some pairs matched perfectly. But even if you could not get along with your designated student, you have been able to discuss with others, all coming from different parts of the world.
As the place was crowded, it was sometimes difficult to find each other but it allows us to meet people we would not have, French or International students.
After several hesitations, the horde of youngsters went to the night club Le Mistral where, by chance, you run into new students and were even more able to enjoy with strangers. International students have discovered a very typical place of the city with a particular name that they will remember.
